Kelowna businesses invited to community safety forum
Kelowna officials are gearing up for a tough conversation tonight as business owners voice concerns about crime and public disturbances in commercial zones.
Local business owners are invited to take part in a Community Safety Business Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 27, where they can discuss challenges affecting their operations with city officials, the RCMP and key partners.
The forum, running from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., is aimed at businesses experiencing an increase in social disorder, including vandalism, public disturbances and cleanliness concerns. Organizers say the event will provide an opportunity for business owners to share their experiences, hear about ongoing safety initiatives and contribute to shaping future solutions.
City and RCMP representatives will present current and upcoming measures, including increased RCMP foot patrols, enhanced bylaw presence and targeted interventions in specific areas. Participants will also have the chance to provide input on practical solutions to support staff and improve day-to-day operations.
