Local police are investigating a hit and run incident.

RCMP said officers responded to a crash at the intersection of 27th Avenue and 41st Street at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11.

Witnesses told police that a Dodge Avenger ran a stop sign and collied with a Ford transit van.

The driver and a passenger of the Dodge then exited the vehicle and fled on foot before police arrived.

Officers and police dogs patrolled the area but could not locate the pair, and the RCMP said the investigation into the crash was ongoing as of Monday afternoon.

Emergency Health Services said paramedics attended the scene and provided medical treatment to two people, who were then taken to hospital in stable condition.
