JoeAnna’s House Winter Wonderland Wish List raises over $76,000
JoeAnna’s House has announced the success of its Winter Wonderland Wish List, a month-long holiday initiative that raised more than $76,000 to support families staying at the facility while their loved ones receive care at Kelowna General Hospital.
This year, the house shifted from a single-day community event to a month-long campaign that encouraged giving while shopping locally. Nineteen local businesses participated, offering donation-per-purchase programs, percentage givebacks, and creative in-store initiatives, all designed to minimize additional financial burden on businesses.
The approach proved successful, raising more than previous one-day events. Families benefited directly, receiving affordable accommodation, comfort, and support during challenging times.
“This initiative was about sustainability, empathy, and gratitude,” said Carly Reuter, director of community engagement for JoeAnna’s House. “It created something positive for families, businesses, and the community.”
