Everyone escapes safely

Major damage in Kelowna house fire

A house fire on Orchard Drive near downtown Kelowna caused major damage Saturday evening, but everyone got out safely.

Fire crews arrived around 5:20 p.m. to flames and heavy smoke.

They managed to put out the fire, which was mostly contained to the home, though a few nearby vehicles and part of a neighbour’s property were also affected.

No one was hurt, and some residents are getting help from Emergency Support Services.
