Nugent-Hopkins, Ingram pace Oilers to gritty win over Golden Knights
EDMONTON — Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had two goals and an assist and Connor McDavid had a goal and two helpers as the Edmonton Oilers held on for a 4-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday.
Zach Hyman also scored and had an assist and Leon Draisaitl had two assists for the Oilers (18-13-6) who have won three of their last four and have gone 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Edmonton is now 15-1-3 when scoring first this season.
Tomas Hertl, Pavel Dorofeyev and Mitch Marner replied for the Golden Knights (16-8-10) who have lost three straight. Noah Hanifin had three assists for the visitors.
Connor Ingram made 26 saves for the win in his Oilers debut and first NHL game of the season, while Carter Hart managed 17 stops in the loss for Vegas.
