‘One of the largest rezoning projects in B.C.’ nearing a reality in the Okanagan: Lake Country
The new Lake Country Business Park is on its way to becoming a new multi-use development.
The District of Lake Country said an application will be brought forward in 2026 to rezone a 200 acre property for a mix of commercial, industrial and residential development.
The district claimed that “the Lake Country Business Park could be one of the largest rezoning projects undertaken by a B.C. municipality in decades,” and adds it could address the shortage of industrial and commercial land in the region while also helping to diversify the local economy.
Lake Country Council Strategic Priorities document outlined that one of its key goals was to work on its own and with partners to “diversify Lake Country’s tax base, and create a complete community with economic prosperity for those who call Lake Country home.”
