Strong winds expected across parts of B.C. Interior
It is shaping up to be a blustery 24 hours in the region.
Strong southwesterly winds are forecast to hit several regions of the B.C. Interior overnight, Environment Canada says.
Areas at risk include the Okanagan Valley, Similkameen, Nicola, South Thompson, Fraser Canyon, Chilcotin, 100 Mile House, and the Cariboo. Key highways affected include the Coquihalla, Okanagan Connector, and Highway 97 between Clinton and 100 Mile House via Begbie Summit.
A vigorous cold front is expected to move across the Interior tonight. Following the front, strong winds could cause tree damage, power outages, and travel delays. Conditions are expected to ease by Wednesday morning as the front moves east.
