Park arrest prompts major emergency response in West K

West Kelowna RCMP are sharing information after a major operation by the Emergency Response Team on Thursday.

The drug section, with support from various other units made an initial arrest at City Park in Kelowna.

That prompted them to execute a search warrant at a residence on Scott Crescent in West Kelowna and that involved the extensive response.

Police said a large quantity of illicit drugs, a substantial amount of Canadian currency and other offence related property was seized.

In a media release Friday, RCMP said enforcement action reflects their ongoing commitment to targeting organized crime and drug trafficking to protect the safety of residents in West Kelowna, Peachland and local First Nations communities.

What the public can do:

Report drug trafficking or illegal weapons to West Kelowna RCMP.

In emergencies, call 911.
