Parade raises $170K for youth mental health

Dec 9, 2025 | 4:59 PM

An extraordinary $170,000 was raised through the ever-popular Parade with a Purpose Saturday in downtown Kelowna.

All funds raised will support solutions to the region’s growing mental health crisis both in the hospital and in the community, through the KGH Foundation.

Donations will help open up a new Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) satellite centre in West Kelowna, fund a second Integrated Health Outreach Team (IHOT) Mobile Clinic Van, and advance Georgia’s Wish, creating safe spaces for conversation and greater access to mental health services for all.

“We are truly overwhelmed with all the heartfelt feedback, gorgeous floats, community involvement, and the impressive amount raised,” founder Pam Turgeon said in a media release.

“There are hundreds of people behind the scenes who selflessly give their time to make this happen. We are grateful to all the sponsors and parade participants, especially Rite-way fencing, this year’s Parade with a Purpose title sponsor.”
