Parade with a purpose brings holiday cheer and road closures to Kelowna

Dec 4, 2025 | 11:15 AM

Kelowna residents can expect some festive fun and traffic delays this weekend as the 6th annual Parade with a Purpose takes over downtown.

The parade, which supports youth mental health through the KGH Foundation, will start at City Park at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, and travel down Bernard Avenue to Bertram Street before returning via Lawrence Avenue.

To accommodate the event, road closures will be in effect along the parade route from 4 to 8 p.m., including Abbott Street between Leon and Bernard avenues, Bernard Avenue between Abbott and Bertram streets, and Lawrence Avenue between Bertram and Abbott streets.

Parking will also be restricted, with no parking on Bernard Avenue after 2 p.m. and the City Park lot closed from Saturday through Sunday to allow for float preparations.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes such as Richter Street or Leon Avenue and consider walking, biking, carpooling or taking transit to reduce congestion.

For more information on the parade, including the full route and parking updates, visit kghfoundation.com.
