$6,443 Raised

Vernon Public Art Gallery surpasses GivingTuesday goal

Dec 4, 2025 | 10:44 AM

The local art scene has gotten a big boost from a sponsor and members of the public.

As part of GivingTuesday, VantageOne Credit Union pledged to match $2,500 in community donations to the Vernon Public Art Gallery.

The gallery had hoped to raise that sum through community donations, but the public made their support clear with their pocketbooks as they donated $3,943, for a grand total of $6,443.

“I’d like to personally thank VantageOne for helping us to maximize the impact of the donations we received this Giving Tuesday. During tough economic times, the arts often suffer as governments tighten their spending through grants. Thanks to our generous gallery donors, we’ve not only reached but exceeded our goal,” Dauna Kennedy, executive director at the Vernon Public Art Gallery, stated.

“Every donation helps us continue to bring inspiring art experiences and visual literacy to Vernon and the North Okanagan region. You have my sincere appreciation for supporting our work in the community, may this holiday season be a happy one for you and your family.”

The funds raised through GivingTuesday will be used to support art exhibitions, arts programming, and community engagement initiatives such as new exhibitions, artist talks, and programs for youth and families.
