It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of BETTY DOREEN BECK on August 22, 2025, at the age of 85 years. Betty was a kind, generous, and loving person to all that crossed her path.

Born on January 20, 1940, in Armstrong, Betty dedicated her life to caring for others, not only as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, but also through her calling as a Registered Nurse. Her compassionate heart, and tireless work ethic touched the lives of countless patients and families throughout her career. She was the kind of nurse who never forgot a face, and whose kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Betty found the love of her life Robert Beck and settled in Grandview flats. They later moved into Vernon where they raised their son Darryl Beck. Her greatest joy was her family. She was fiercely loving, patient and endlessly supportive – always there for a warm hug, wise words or a home cooked meal.  Among the many things that she was passionate about in her lifetime, nothing could match her dedication to the role of Grandma.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her brother, Gordie Danallanko (Betty), son Darryl (Kendra), granddaughter Elly Beck, her pride and joy, and all of her extended family and close friends. Betty was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob), brother Ed Danallanko (Linda), and sister Marion Walker (Tom).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation in Betty’s Memory.

A Celebration of Life to honour Betty will be held at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Rd, Vernon, BC, on Friday, September 19th, at 1:00pm.
