George passed away peacefully on Thursday August 7th, 2025, at the North Okanagan Hospice House, with his family by his side.
He was predeceased by his parents, siblings, and by Mary Louise Cornish, his beloved wife and mother of his children, Kathy (husband John), Steven, and Alexander (wife Linda), and grandmother of Chance, Nolin, Meghan, Oliver, and Joshua.
George was blessed to meet and marry Jeannine Zein on April 21st, 2007, gaining a stepson, Lance, and a granddaughter, Satya. Together they shared a life of skiing, golf, good food, and loving support for one another, as they enjoyed the Okanagan Valley with all their friends. Our family is thankful for the care shown to George by his wife Jeannine during the last chapter of his life.
George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. On June 21st, he celebrated his 90th birthday with all his grandchildren present. His smile on that day expressed true gratitude for his family and friends.
George worked hard in sales management, receiving promotions that moved he and his family from Oshawa, eventually retiring early and moving to Vernon. He was active in the community, serving the church, joining service clubs like Knights of Columbus, Rotary, and Shriners, that led him to be “Dazzle the Clown” on the Uncle Bobby Show. George and Alexander both marched in parades playing the drums.
A celebration of life will take place on Friday, August 29th at 11:00am at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Rd, Vernon, B.C. 250-542-4333
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to North Okanagan Hospice House.
