Thousands expected

Pride Month kicks off in the Okanagan with packed lineup through June 30

May 30, 2025 | 11:12 AM

Kelowna Pride Month begins Friday and runs through June 30, 2025, under the theme Rise and Resist.

The annual event, organized by the Kelowna Pride Society, is the largest Pride celebration in the B.C. Interior, and is expected to draw more than 12,000 attendees.

The festival opens May 30 with Kelowna’s Next Drag Superstar at Red Bird Brewing. The Kelowna Pride March and Festival will take place May 31 at Stuart Park and City Park, followed by the official after-party, Fruitcake, also at Red Bird Brewing, featuring Canadian recording artist Bif Naked.

Additional events throughout the month include the All Wheels Welcome Ride for Pride on June 8, the Pets for Pride Parade on June 14, the Trans and Enby March and Festival on June 20, and the second annual Two-Spirit Powwow on June 28.

Kelowna Pride acknowledges it operates on the traditional, unceded territory of the Syilx-Okanagan peoples of the Interior Salish Nation.

Pride Month events will include both official and affiliate programming. Community groups and partner organizations across Kelowna are planning their own events, with a full calendar to be published online.

The Kelowna Pride Society is currently seeking volunteers, performers, vendors and sponsors. Vendor opportunities are available for the Trans and Enby March on June 20 and the Two-Spirit Powwow on June 28. Organizers say they welcome businesses, artisans, non-profit organizations and community groups to participate.

Volunteer roles are available in several areas, including event setup, parade coordination and festival operations. The society is also looking for performers to take part in the Trans and Enby Celebration.

Sponsorship opportunities are open to businesses and organizations wishing to support Pride Month events and programming.

Kelowna Pride Society is a registered non-profit in British Columbia and a member of Fierté Canada Pride and InterPride.
