$923K already raised for Sovereign Lake Lodge renewal

The Sovereign Lake Nordic Club (SLNC) has already raised a significant amount of funds for its lodge renewal project.

The organization said it had raised $923,000 in the last six months of fundraising.

That included $802,000 raised or pledged from more than 200 donors, including members and small businesses; $35,000 in secured grant funding; and SNLC reserves.

The group said B.C. Parks was also going to contribute to the lodge planning and design project or provide in-kind support from consultants with discounted services.

SNLC noted expenditures on this project as of May 22 amounted to $73,000, bringing the net revenue to $747,000.

The expenditures included commissioning various studies, such as economic impacts, archeological and asbestos investigations, as well as a structural engineering assessment.

The organization’s fundraising campaign aimed to support the renewal of the lodge that people can use when recreating outdoors remained open, with details on how to donate available online here.
