ALC on track to be delivered on time and on budget
Progress is being made to build Vernon’s newest recreation hub.
A quarterly report on the new Activ Living Centre (ALC) says, four months into construction, the project is on track to be delivered on time and on budget.
The report, which will be presented to Vernon City Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting this morning (Aug. 9), stated the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) design and construction team have completed the design elements needed for early construction, including site utilities, excavation, pool mechanical basement, foundations and more, and are now working to build the steel and mass timber superstructure where the pools and related mechanical rooms will be located.
A new underground storm main had also been tied in to the site, bulk excavation of the basement was nearly completed, waterproofing of the basement was over halfway complete, and the installation of reinforcing steel for the basement slab had started as of as of time of reporting.
