Shamrocks sweep Rattlers to advance to Rowcliffe Cup final

The Armstrong Shamrocks have advanced to the final of the Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League after a 13-5 victory over the Kamloops Rattlers in game two of the league semi final Wednesday night in Kamloops.

The Shamrocks will take on the Kelowna Raiders in the final for the Rowcliffe Cup, with the start date to be determined.

Jarret Medhurst led Armstrong with two goals and one assist. Jake Pelletier also netted two goals and one helper for the Shamrocks who scored five unanswered goals to start the third and break the game wide open.

“The Armstrong Shamrocks were simply too much for the Kamloops Rattlers. Too much relentless offense, too much punishing defense, too much loose ball pursuit, too much over-all depth and ultimately too much skill for the Rattlers to compete with,” wrote Ryan Nitchie of the Shamrocks in his game synopsis posted on social media.

Nitchie says there were a few fights late in the game.

“The referees ordered the timekeeper to run out the clock and the benches settled as the Shamrocks raised their hands in victory and ultimately advance to the Rowcliffe Cup finals to take on the Kelowna Raiders,” Nitchie said.
