Vernon residents surprised at loss of water service

Some residents living near Vernon Secondary School were without water service this morning, which came as a surprise to some of them.
The city said it was doing work in that area and notifications were provided to residents beforehand of possible water service disruptions.
“However, the area affected by the work was larger than anticipated,” Josh Winquist, communications officer with the City of Vernon, told Vernon Matters.
Winquist said water service has been restored to the properties, and the city has suspended the work which will be rescheduled for a later date.
