Criminality not involved in women’s death in Vernon

Jun 5, 2024 | 10:20 AM

RCMP have ruled out foul play in the death of a woman in Vernon last month.

An investigation was launched on May 28, 2024 after a woman was found dead inside a residence in the 5500-block of Heritage Drive.

Media relations officer, Const. Chris Terleski, said that led to a full investigation by the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit.

“As a result of that investigation, no evidence was found to suggest any criminality was involved in her death,” Terleski stated.

RCMP are offering condolences to the family and friends of the woman, and say no further information will be released for privacy reasons.

Media reports have identified the woman as 32-year-old Kaylee Bannister who ran Ace of Fades barbershop in downtown Vernon.

She had two daughters.
