Vernon road remains closed for watermain break repairs

A watermain break on Pottery Road in Vernon earlier this month has led to more work than originally planned.

The break near 18th Street in the East Hill area Oct. 18 was repaired quickly and water service was restored to area residents, but the damage to the road is taking longer than expected to repair.

The City of Vernon originally expected the work would take a week to complete, yet as of today (Oct. 26), the project still requires paving and line painting.

That work is expected to be completed over the coming days with the roads ready to reopen by the weekend, weather permitting.
