After several weeks of lower fuel costs after peaking at 219 cents a litre in June, gasoline prices in Vernon and area are headed back up.
Stations had been selling regular unleaded for $163.9 per litre, but several stations have now hiked prices by 15 cents a litre to 178.9 cents.
“Tight supply along most of the west coast is a major factor, coupled with maintenance at the Phillips 66 refinery, south of the border,” analyst Dan McTeague with Canadians for Affordable Energy said.
Prices across the province are expected to rise by 10 to 15 cents a litre.
