Sir Winston’s Pub undergoing a refresh

One of Vernon’s legacy pubs is getting an interior update.

Sir Winston’s Pub and Restaurant opened in 1995 along with Dimitri’s Greek Restaurant.

In 2003, the restaurant was closed and a beer, wine and liquor store was added.

There were other changes in recent years including a rooftop patio to extend the summer space.

A Facebook post indicates the business will be closed for 20 days and re-opening at the end of September. Along with the renos, a new menu is also anticipated.

“We are excited for this next chapter and can’t wait for everyone to see the changes that are going to be made. More information will be released on what we have in store for this space soon. Liquor Store will be operating under normal hours,” the company’s Facebook page stated.

Vernon Matters has reached out to ownership for more information on what is in store.

The food and beverage industry has had to be innovative coming out of pandemic closures, labour shortages and dramatic increases in supply costs.

The upgrades come in a rapidly changing food and beverage scene in Vernon, with sale and re-branding of the Outboard/Blue Heron Pub to 1516, the closure of the Pint and Pie Pub, and the anticipated opening of Cactus Club Cafe this fall.
