Vernon’s Ben King drafted by Ducks

Ben King of Vernon is going to Anaheim.

The 20-year-old was drafted 107th overall by the Ducks in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL draft.

The 6’2″ 205 lbs. centre has spent the last six seasons in the WHL, joining the Swift Current Broncos in the 2017-18 season, and moving over to the Red Deer Rebels in 2019-20, where he closed out his minor career.

In his last regular season with the Rebels, King scored 52 goals and tallied 53 assists in 68 games. He also scored four times and got an assist on six others during 10 playoff games in the 2021-22 post-season as well.
