Pedestrian suffers serious injuries
A man suffered serious head and lower extremity injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Salmon Arm.
RCMP say the incident took place just before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the intersection of the Trans Canada Highway and Shuswap St. NE.
“The investigation determined that a pedestrian was crossing against the pedestrian signal, and a turning vehicle on an advanced green signal could not see the pedestrian and collided with the pedestrian in the intersection,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Scott West.
The pedestrian, a 67-year-old resident of Salmon Arm, is being treated in hospital for his injuries.
