More snow coming to Southern and Central Okanagan’s mountain roads
A wet Pacific frontal system moving into B.C. Friday is expected to bring precipitation and snow to the Southern and Central Okanagan’s higher elevations.
Environment Canada says the weather system will bring close to 15 to 25 centimetres of snow to Highway 3’s Allison Pass and Highway 5’s Coquihalla Summit. Snow is also expected at the Sea to Sky Highway’s upper elevations near Whistler
The freezing levels will range between 500 and 1000 metres in this system, meaning the high mountain passes affected by this weather pattern can expect heavy snow.
The system is also expected to bring 40 to 60 millimetres of rain to the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas, and 80 millimetres of rain to the North Shore Mountains and Howe Sound areas.
