Campground gets green light on sewer connection

The proponent of a 40-site campground at 7850 Redwing Road along the Swan Lake Corridor just south of the Swan Lake RV Resort, has successfully petitioned to be included in the first phase of connections to the new North Okanagan Sewage Treatment Plant, when it comes online in 2023.

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) had previously given conditional rezoning approval for 2.33 hectares from country residential to recreation commercial, including connection to the sewer system.

The developer indicates about 57 per cent of the property would be utilized for camping with the rest in open space, riparian area along Swan Lake, and the dedication of a public trail along the lakefront.
