National Day of Mourning

The City of Vernon will be joining observances of the National Day of Mourning this Friday.

The day honours the memory of workers who have been killed, injured, or suffered illnesses as a result of work-related incidents.

Everyone is invited to attend a ceremony at Vernon City Hall from 10:30 to 11 am Friday.

The day has been officially observed since the federal government proclaimed it in 1991.
