South Okanagan RCMP Combine to Capture Suspect

55 year old Afshin Maleki Ighani of Oliver, was arrested in Princeton early Saturday afternoon following the report of woman being kidnapped.

On Saturday Princeton RCMP received information that an adult woman had allegedly been forcibly confined in her vehicle by the suspect, the subject of a warrant for his arrest for attempt murder, stemming from a shooting incident in Oliver earlier this week.

The suspect along with the company of another male and the female made various attempts to escape including on a motorcycle. Through numerous sightings as well as a helicopter, tracking dog and roadblocks the chase came to a non violent conclusion.

None of the individuals were injured during the arrest. RCMP are continuing to investigate.
