Fatal crash east of Falkland

A man in his sixties has died in a single vehicle crash on Highway 97, about 12 kilometres east of Falkland, according to the North Okanagan RCMP.

Officers were called to the scene near Whispering Pines Frontage Road around 5:30 a.m. Monday, after an eastbound pickup failed to negotiate a curve and left the highway.

RCMP said the lone occupant was ejected from the vehicle and was killed.

North Okanagan Traffic Services (NOTS) and the BC Coroners’ Service were investigating the cause of the crash and were appealing for witnesses to contact police.
