Repairs close to done on damaged road

The City of Vernon expects to have a section of Pottery Road reopened at the end of the day.

The road was damaged near Highway 6 by a water main break on Tuesday afternoon.

Utilities Manager Sean Irwin said the asphalt lifted on the street is being repaired today.

“Yesterday (Wednesday) they were prepping for asphalt and filling the hole in. By the end of the day today, it should be open again,” he said.

Irwin said the cause of the break was aged infrastructure.
