Two Month Old Water Notice Lifted

Two Month Old Water Notice Lifted

Jan 29, 2019 | 1:28 PM

Some Vernon area residents are no longer having to boil their drinking water.

Greater Vernon Water and Interior Health have lifted a boil water notice for Properties on Commonage Crescent, Commonage Place, Mission Road, Noric House, and the Allan Brooks Nature Centre.

The utility says consecutive samples have shown water quality has returned to a good rating.

Water Quality Manager Renee Clark says the notice had been in effect since Nov. 23, 2018.

“We had bacteria counts at one of our sampling stations, so we were looking at where we thought the issue was. We’ve gone through cleaning a reservoir that was part of it,” Clark told Beach Radio News.

The Boil Water Notice is rescinded for:
• Commonage Crescent
• Commonage Place
• 1316 Mission Road
• 1400 Mission Road – Noric House
• 1424 Mission Road
• Some areas of the DND grounds including:
1280 Mission Road
1275 Mission Road
700 Hwy 97
• Allan Brooks
