Vernon city council has approved an application for funding to improve the Lakeview Wading Pool.
Council has sent in an application for the Canada- British Columbia Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program for $1,461,834 or 73.33% of the cost of the project.
Funding for the remaining $545,666 was also approved by council contingent on being granted the money.
Aside from swimming pool upgrades; the revitalization would include a spray park, new washrooms, and more energy efficient technology to cut down on costs and the environmental impact.
