Grass Fire Believed Started by Transients Cooking in Camp

At approximately 8:32AM this morning,  Kelowna Fire Dispatch received numerous 911 calls reporting a grass fire between Dilworth Dr. and Enterprise Way.

First arriving crews reported, a small 30’ x 30’ grass fire. It was deep seated in the ground cover.

Initial KFD crews attacked the fire with handlines and fire guarded to contain it.

Fire is believed to have been started by transients cooking in a homeless shelter camp.
