Kelowna’s newly elected city council will officially take office Monday night.

The 2026-2030 council’s inauguration ceremony gets underway at 7 p.m. at the Rotary Centre for the Arts on Cawston Avenue.

Judge Clarke Burnett will administer the Oath of Office to Mayor-elect Tom Dyas and eight councillors: Les Bellamy, Kevin Kraft, Davis Kyle, Gord Lovegrove, Brady Rogers, Mohini Singh, Laura Thurnheer and Rick Webber.

The one-hour ceremony will be followed by a public reception featuring coffee and appetizers, running until 9 p.m.

Residents are welcome to attend both the ceremony and reception. The meeting will also be livestreamed through the city’s website.

Kelowna’s municipal election was held Oct. 17. The new council’s first regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 9, followed by its first public hearing on Nov. 17.
