South Vernon grocery store under new ownership

South Vernon residents have a re-branded grocery store to shop for their food and essential goods.

Save-On-Foods opened its doors at the landing plaza Thursday, replacing the Buy Low Foods that previously occupied the site.

“There has been a lot of excitement leading up to today, and it’s rewarding to welcome customers into the store,” store manager, Michael Paré, stated.

“We’re proud of what we’ve built together as a team and look forward to creating a place where neighbours can find quality products, great value and friendly faces they can count on.”

The new store marked the opening with celebrations that included giving out $10 gift cards to 100 randomly selected shoppers Thursday, launching a draw for a $500 gift card for customers who spend $50 or more, and offering sales and in-store specials all weekend.

“We have a long and proud history in Vernon, and we are excited to expand our presence in this community with the opening of Save-On-Foods South Vernon,” Jamie Nelson, president of Pattison Food Group, said.

“This new store allows us to better serve our customers, and strengthen our connection to a community that has supported us for generations.”

This is the 195th Save-on-Foods location in Canada.
