Kelowna council candidate wants ‘affordable city to belong in’

A candidate for Kelowna city council in next month’s election says he believes the community can work toward a city people can afford, access and belong in.

Randy Millis, describes himself as a multimedia journalist, advocate and longtime Kelowna resident. He has a background in journalism, radio, information technology, community and shelter support work, and has approximately ten years running his own small consulting business.

Millis said his experience informs his perspective, but that experience is not everyone else’s. “Good decisions require listening to the people affected,” he said.

His platform includes: More attainable and accessible housing; accessibility that works, such as sidewalks and transportation; a focus on homelessness prevention; community resilience from natural disasters; and transparent decision-making at City Hall.
