The Band went on to remind residents that the areas had been affected by a wildfire and there may be hazards people should be cautious of.

People were advised to:

• Check properties for any structural damage, damaged trees, fallen powerlines, or sharp debris, and to not not enter structures that look unstable
• Protect themselves during cleanup by wearing appropriate footwear, gloves, protective clothing and N95 masks
• Replace the furnace and/or air conditioner filter
• Check food before using as refrigerated or frozen food may no longer be safe to consume following an extended power outage
• Be careful with ash and soot by wet wiping or mopping instead of dry dusting, and only using a vaccume equipped with a HEPA filter to clean up ash

The Band also asked people be mindful of their neighbours, as some homes and properties have been significantly damaged or lost, and that people respect other’s private property by not entering or photographing damaged properties that are not their own, and give affected families the privacy and space they need. 

As of time of publication the Bradley Creek wildfire had burned an estimated 2,634.8 hectares and was considered Being Held, indicating it was unlikely the fire would spread any further.

The B.C. Wildfire Service still had a number of resources dedicated to working on this fire and the 1,238.8 hectare Qulpituk Creek fire south of Fintry including 129 firefighters, 11 helicopters, 67 structure protection personnel, 40 pieces of heavy equipment, and an Incident Management Team.

The BCWS continued to ask boaters stay clear of the areas of wildfires to allow aerial resources to safely collect water, and asked people to not fly drones or unauthorized aircraft in the airspace near fires as they can interfere with the aerial resources.
