Call centre open for families to contact evacuated seniors
A dedicated call service has opened for families to contact seniors forced from their residences due to the wildfire near Summerland.
Interior Health stated seniors at the Dr. Andrew Pavillion and Summerland Seniors Village were evacuated in response to the Bald Range Wildfire, and families with loved ones living at those facilities can get information about them by calling 1-833-971-5045.
The call centre will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays.
“IH evacuated 48 residents from the Dr. Andrew Pavillion and supported our contracted partner, West Coast Senior Housing Management, to relocate 190 residents from Summerland Seniors Village on Aug. 8 to alternate locations away from the affected area,” the health authority stated.
