Vaval’s return touchdown turns the tide for Blue Bombers in 30-21 win over Argonauts
WINNIPEG — Trey Vaval’s 129-yard return touchdown after a missed Toronto Argonauts field goal attempt broke the game open in the fourth quarter of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ 30-21 win on Friday.
The long return bailed out the Bombers after Vaval had fumbled a punt return moments earlier.
When Toronto kicker Lirim Hajrullahu was wide left on a 40-yard, field-goal attempt, Vaval caught the ball deep in his own end zone and weaved his way through tacklers to score with less than nine minutes remaining.
The win also marked a milestone for Blue Bombers quarterback Dru Brown, who was acquired in a June trade with the Ottawa Redblacks.
