Pickleballers will converge on Vernon for the inaugural Okanagan Open in the fall.

The Vernon Pickleball Association will hold the tournament at the Pickleball Complex at Marshall Fields from October 15 to 18.

The competition will bring in the region’s top amateur and advanced players battling for a chance to win a combined $10,000 in prizes.

“The Vernon Pickleball Association is incredibly excited to host the Okanagan Open and to welcome Easthill Physiotherapy & Acupuncture on board as our Title Sponsor,” said Tournament Director Richard Chambers.

“The explosive growth of pickleball has created a demand for high-level, professionally run tournaments. We are creating a premium experience for both amateur and elite competitors battling it out on the court. Our long-term goal is to develop this tournament into a signature event throughout the Okanagan Valley and eventually include other pickleball centers as part of the schedule.”

The tournament will feature Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Singles and Doubles matches.

Vernon Pickleball Association put together a schedule for the tournament, and registration for the tournament will open online August 11.
