The Okanagan Science Centre has brought in new leaders as the facility moves to make it more accessible and meet the needs of the growing community.

In a release, the Science Centre said it had brought onboard Camilia Courts and Dave Hillary to help with communications, partnerships and fundraising needed to support the centre’s growth.

Courts, hired as the new Director of Marketing and Communication, will be in charge of telling the Centre’s story and building deeper connections with families, individuals and partners across the region. She brings with her a background in marketing, communications, photography and the arts.

Hillary, the Centre’s new Director of Corporate Development and Strategic Partnership, will be tasked with building strong relationships with businesses and community partners to support programs and long-term growth. He brings 25 years of senior leadership, fundraising, and building partnerships to the centre.

“With Camillia and Dave joining us, they will be pivotal in the success of one of the most ambitious projects our organization has ever undertaken,” Dione Chambers, the Centre’s Executive Director, stated.

“Our future facility and science hub, located in Vernon, will position our region as a leader in rural science education and local environmental sciences and innovation. These strategic appointments ensure we have the leadership capacity to turn that bold vision into reality.”
