Kelowna Rockets goaltender Josh Banini out week-to-week after bench injury
Kelowna Rockets goaltender Josh Banini will be sidelined on a week-to-week basis after sustaining an injury during Saturday night’s game against the Portland Winterhawks.
Banini was struck under the eye by a puck while seated on the bench. He was attended to immediately on the ice and later stretchered off as a precaution. The Rockets confirmed he was transported for further evaluation following the game and re-assessed in Kelowna on Sunday afternoon.
The team said Banini may be dealing with a hyphema but remains in good spirits and is being closely monitored by the Rockets’ medical staff.
The Rockets extended their gratitude to athletic therapist Scott Hoyer for his rapid response, as well as to the Portland Winterhawks’ training staff and on-site paramedics for their assistance.
