Kelowna MLAs push for Bailey’s Law

Kelowna MLAs Kristina Loewen and Gavin Dew, with the BC Conservative Caucus, are pushing for Bailey’s Law.
Bailey McCourt, 32, was a mother of two. She was brutally attacked with a hammer in a Kelowna parking lot on July 4, 2025.
Her estranged husband, James Edward Plover, had earlier been convicted of assault and threats.
B.C. has no domestic violence offender registry. Bailey’s Law would create a provincial registry, require GPS monitoring with victim alerts, and impose tougher penalties for offenders.
