Coldstream successful in bid for FireSmart funds

The District of Coldstream will have outside funding to help protect the community from fires.

Coldstream was successful in a bid to secure money through the FireSmart Community Funding and Supports stream.

The District will receive a total of $400,000, split up in two annual payments of $200,000, for the local FireSmart program.

The funds will cover the cost of the existing FireSmart Coordinator position, and related services such as property assessments, FireSmart 101 Courses, and the Coldstream Wildfire Resiliency Plan, though to July 15, 2027.
