Kelowna is hosting the largest gathering of Liberal Members of Parliament from B.C. next week.

Local MP Stephen Fuhr is leading the meetings on Monday and Tuesday, July 14-15. He’s also the Secretary of State for Defence Procurement.

The Pacific Caucus includes 20 MPs, five of them federal ministers. They’ll meet with local leaders, Indigenous groups, businesses, and officials discussing housing, affordability, public safety, and climate resilience.

In a statement, Fuhr’s office said the series of meetings would be focused on hearing directly from stakeholders Province-wide and across the region.

“As the only Liberal Member of Parliament representing the Interior, I’m honoured to host my colleagues in Kelowna,” Fuhr said. “From affordability, housing, public safety, and economic diversification, to environment, and climate resilience, it is important that the unique needs and priorities of British Columbians outside of the Lower Mainland are heard and understood. This visit will help shine a light on our region, the unique challenges and opportunities in the interior, and ensure we are building a stronger future for all British Columbians.”
