Mar 28, 2025 | 6:00 AM

A man facing charges including flight from police will be in court in early April.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said Dale Babiy will appear in Vernon court for an arraignment hearing on April 3.

Babiy was arrested on warrants in December of 2024, during which he tried to use a stolen vehicle to flee from police.

RCMP used a spike stip to stop the vehicle, and Babiy tried to flee on foot, but was apprehended.

Babiy was charged with flight from police, dangerous driving, possession of stolen property, and driving while prohibited.

The B.C. Prosecution Service said Babiy had not entered any plea and a trial date was not set as of Thursday, March 27.

Babiy was also tried and found guilty of assault with a weapon and uttering threats earlier this month. He will be sentenced at a later date.
