Federal All-Candidates forum to go in Vernon in mid-April

Mar 26, 2025 | 4:09 PM

The local candidates for the 2025 Federal Election will take to the stage at an All-Candidates Forum next month.

The Greater Vernon Chamber will host the event featuring the Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee riding candidates at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 17.

The event, which will be open to the public, will see the candidates lay out their party’s platform and answer a series of moderated questions. Time permitting, there may be a chance for members of the audience to submit their own questions to the candidates.

“This is an important opportunity for our community to hear directly from the individuals seeking to represent them in Ottawa,” Dan Proulx, General Manager of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce, said.

“We are pleased to collaborate with the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society to present this forum. It’s vital that voters have access to information about the candidates and their party platforms so they can make informed decisions and fully engage in the democratic process ahead of the election on April 28th.”

Admission will be free, and the Chamber will also live stream the forum for people who cannot attend in person.

As of time of publication, all but the Liberal Party of Canada had confirmed candidates in the Vernon-Lake Country-Monashee riding:

  • Scott Anderson, Conservative Party of Canada
  • Leah Main, New Democratic Party of Canada
  • Blair Visscher, Green Party of Canada
  • Arsh Dhillon, People’s Party of Canada
