Coldstream moving ahead with securing nearly $5M for transit enhancements
The District of Coldstream is moving ahead with securing federal funding to invest in public transit over the coming decade.
A letter from Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, stated B.C. Transit submitted a successful expression of interest on behalf of the community’s transit system.
The Community was seeking $4,932,650 over 10 years through the Baseline Funding stream of the Canada Public Transit Fund to enhance the Vernon Regional Transit System.
If successful, the funding, which was calculated based on a combination of ridership and population, would start being available in 2026.
