Bird hits wires, knocks out power in Vernon temporarily

Thousands of Vernon and Coldstream customers were impacted by a temporary power outage Monday.
B.C. Hydro said a bird hit wires in Vernon, knocking out power to 4,284 customers at around 9:41 a.m. Monday, July 15.
The outage affected properties in Beachcomber Bay, Okanagan Landing, South Vernon and the north end of Coldstream.
A B.C. Hydro crew was dispatched to the site and managed to restore power 11 a.m.
