The highway near Grindrod was closed for several hours Wednesday night after a semi-truck lost its load of plywood on a corner.

RCMP say the panels were blocking both lanes after the incident in the 7300 block of Highway 97A around 5 p.m. on July 3.

“The trailer attached to the semi had tipped and was laying on its side and a large amount of plywood was strewn across both lanes of travel,” Cpl. Tania Finn, media relations officer, told Vernon Matters.

Three other vehicles were damaged as a result of the lost load, but no injuries were reported.
